Background:

Personally speaking, the DJ I hired for my own wedding was not great but this actually taught me some valuable lessons about what NOT to do when DJing. The venue where we had our reception had recommended him and I'm sure he was an amazing "house DJ" but my mother-in-law doesn't like house music, my father-in-law doesn't like house music and neither does my aunt, uncle or grandparents for that matter. Basically he didn't read the crowd and nobody danced. He didn't even have our special song ready (Van Morrison "Moondance") or any of the Cuban music I wanted to hear. The last thing I wanted to do was tell the DJ what to play at my own reception instead of enjoying myself. Regardless, nobody should have this experience on their special day and I sincerely want people to have a good time, whether your grandparents are sitting down tapping their feet or your cousins & bridesmaids are up on the dance floor rocking the whole night away! I enjoy mixing it up and including everyone in the fun - from young to old, nobody is excluded.

Consultation:

Before your wedding I will meet with you and find out your personal style, what's playing on your iPod and the guest demographics to give me a sense of the night you are looking for. I encourage you to pass me on a list of your favourite songs, what you listened to in college, what was playing on the radio when you first met. I always do a venue check as soon as possible - I will meet the wedding or sales co-ordinator, find out the best place to set up, where the power outlets are and even the best place to park to make sure everything goes like clockwork on the day.

We actually only gave him two song requests – one was for our first dance and the second was for the father/daughter dance which he actually suggested. My husband (fiance at the time) and i got a sneak peek at DJ BFAD's talent at my sister-in-laws wedding a couple months before our own; by the end of the night i couldn't pay the deposit fast enough to book him for my wedding! A DJ will make or break your wedding and i knew DJ BFAD would ensure an awesome reception! you will love that even the "background" music that is being played during dinner is awesome, you will find yourself saying "oh good song" or singing along. However, you should be forewarned though one of the dangers of hiring DJ BFAD for your event is that once the dancing starts you will never find a "bad" song or one that you don't like in order to run to the bathroom!!! At our wedding everyone got up and danced at some point during the night, even my aunt who is close to 70 and thinks that all music is noise found a song she liked and danced!!! we were sad when the last song was played cos the dance floor was packed and people still wanted to party!!!

"DJ BFAD came highly recommended to us by my Maid of Honour. She knows him from the many parties that he has DJ'd at the Jericho Tennis Club.
