DJ BFAD Top 10 Events of 2011

I have a fantastic job and get to meet some amazing people. 2012 is looking to be my best year yet and I'm looking forward to spinning all over Vancouver. There were many highlights this year including having the police show up at a ‎60th birthday party I was spinning at because it was getting a little rowdy (I hope the police show up on my 60th birthday!!). Here are my Top 10 Events of 2011....

Groupon Events: Received a call from the head office in Chicago and a few weeks later I was spinning at the Shangri-La Hotel & Art Gallery rooftop events for Groupon.
Brix Restaurant: Recently voted the #1 wedding ceremony venue in Vancouver at the BC Wedding Awards and in my experience it definitely is, I enjoy coming here and the weddings are always top notch!
Summer Weddings: Summer wedding season went by in a blur but I had a fantastic time with all my wedding couples, I'm a little biased but I think I get the BEST and NICEST couples - congrats & thanks for having me!
Family time: I'm very fortunate that my job allows me to spend quality time with my family and I love every minute, including jetting off to Maui after wedding season for some much needed R&R.
House Parties: I love DJing a bumpin' house party and this year I had some legendary ones, all good clean fun ofcourse...
Amazing Clients: Old & new, furry & blue - 2011 brought me some amazing new clients as well as working with some of my favourite previous clients including Pixar Vancouver.
St. Patricks Day: JTC was off the hook this year! (alchohol may have been involved)...
Vancouver: The day after the riot (June 16, 2011) I went downtown to the heart of where most of the damage took place to see what I could do to help. Instead of seeing a beat up, defeated city I found quite the opposite! Uplifting messages, free hugs and a general love for this beautiful city...
Prince Live: One of my musical idols, finally got to see him live and he played a greatest hits set - total awesomeness.
Tommy Hilfiger: Ended the corporate year with in-store events for Tommy Hilfiger Vancouver.

Congrats Kat & Chris, thanks for choosing me as your wedding ceremony & reception DJ. This was a fun & very familiar wedding considering I have enjoyed working with everyone previously - nice to see some familiar faces including Royal Vancouver Yacht Club (venue), Hyperfocus (Justin & Stef, photographers), Brent Sheppard (officiant) and Corycatures (caricature artist). Wedding Reception Cartoonist

Cocktail receptions are a chance for guests to mingle and have a drink for an hour or two post-ceremony. This past Saturday, I worked with a cartoonist who drew hilarious caricatures of the guests during this time - I thought this was a great idea! It broke the ice, created a talking point and lots of laughs, good fun!

Tannia you organized an amazing surprise James Bond Theme 50th Birthday Party for Blake. No detail was left untouched including roulette tables, 007 ice sculptures, martini's, rented tuxedo's for the guys and cocktail dresses for the ladies, chocolate gold coins, red carpet entrance, Bond girls strolling the room and ofcourse I was able to play some of the fantastic James Bond Theme Songs throughout the night...

Congrats to Heather & Dan and thanks for choosing me to be your wedding DJ - the reception was at the OLD ORCHARD HALL in Port Moody and I was able to work with a great team: wedding co-ordinator Sacha from Wish Events and Salsa dance instruction with Corey & Samia from Dance 4U. Although May 27th, I didn't expect that freak hailstorm - wow, at least you were still able to sneak the ceremony outside during the sunny break and the sunset was fairly amazing. Great party too :)

"DJ BFAD is a must, must, must for you wedding!!! My husband (fiance at the time) and i got a sneak peek at DJ BFAD's talent at my sister-in-laws wedding a couple months before our own; by the end of the night i couldn't pay the deposit fast enough to book him for my wedding! A DJ will make or break your wedding and i knew DJ BFAD would ensure an awesome reception! you will love that even the "background" music that is being played during dinner is awesome, you will find yourself saying "oh good song" or singing along. However, you should be forewarned though one of the dangers of hiring DJ BFAD for your event is that once the dancing starts you will never find a "bad" song or one that you don't like in order to run to the bathroom!!! At our wedding everyone got up and danced at some point during the night, even my aunt who is close to 70 and thinks that all music is noise found a song she liked and danced!!! we were sad when the last song was played cos the dance floor was packed and people still wanted to party!!!
